I spent the final two nights of my vacation in Sicily (June 2026) at the Villa Fiorita Boutique Hotel in Taormina. I could not have chosen a better hotel to end my vacation at, and my only regret is not staying longer!
Location
Villa Fiorita’s prime location makes it an excellent choice for any stay in Taormina. While it’s only steps away from the town’s main attractions, restaurants, shops, and the cable car down to the beach, the property itself feels incredibly peaceful and secluded. Tucked away from the crowds, it offers the perfect balance of convenience and tranquility, allowing you to experience the heart and essence of Taormina while still enjoying a quiet retreat at the end of the day.
Unlike many hotels in Taormina’s pedestrian-only historic centre, Villa Fiorita is easily accessible by car. It’s also conveniently located just steps from Taormina’s bus terminal, which offers buses that connect directly to the Taormina-Giardini train station and the Catania–Fontanarossa Airport, making your arrival and departure incredibly easy.
Atmosphere
Villa Fiorita excels at creating an elegant and welcoming atmosphere. Every detail felt intentional, which contributed to a stay that felt luxurious and personal. From the complimentary sweets waiting in my room upon arrival to the welcome drink offered, these small touches made me feel genuinely valued as a guest. The staff were kind, attentive, and happy to help, which made my stay all the more enjoyable.
Despite being a boutique hotel, Villa Fiorita offers an impressive amount of space for guests to relax. There are multiple indoor and outdoor lounge areas and spaces for guests to enjoy a drink or bite to eat, and a stunning rooftop infinity pool overlooking the beaches and Ionian Sea below. The hotel’s thoughtful layout ensures it never feels crowded, allowing guests to enjoy a true sense of privacy and tranquility throughout their stay.
Rooms & Comfort
The room I received upon check-in was everything I’d been eagerly anticipating, and more. It was spacious, filled with natural light, and featured an unbeatable view of the Ionian sea. The bed was the perfect place to unwind after a day exploring the city, and I especially appreciated the selection of pillows with varying levels of firmness – a thoughtful touch that allows guests to choose what is most comfortable for them. It’s details like these that reflect Villa Fiorita’s commitment to creating an exceptional guest experience.
The room was equally impressive in terms of amenities. My room included a TV, Wi-Fi, a safe, air conditioning, a kettle and coffee machine, premium toiletries, a hairdryer, bathrobes, and slippers. The minibar was stocked daily with complimentary drinks, including some of my favorite Italian sodas! One of my favorite touches was the evening turn-down service. Returning to my room at night to find everything refreshed, along with a small treat waiting for me, made me feel taken care of and elevated the entire stay.
Breakfast & Dining
I love starting my day with a hotel breakfast, and this one was no exception. Villa Fiorita’s breakfast buffet offers both indoor and outdoor seating, and a wide variety of sweet and savoury options, fruit, freshly squeezed juices. There is also and an à la carte menu where guests can order a variety of crêpes, pancakes, and eggs. Despite breakfast being buffet-style, the staff were friendly and frequently checking in to attend to guests’ coffee orders and other needs.
Another thoughtful gesture was the breakfast box that was packed and given to me during checkout before my early-morning flight. It included an assortment of breakfast staples and I very much appreciated being able to have something to eat on the way to the airport.
Rooftop Pool & Bar
To me, Villa Fiorita’s rooftop infinity pool is its pièce de résistance. As someone who usually seeks out beach clubs or lidos when traveling to seaside destinations, I was surprised to find I had little desire to leave this hotel. Given the poolside food and drink service, the comfortable loungers, and the panoramic views, I happily spent entire afternoons alternating between lounging in the sun, cooling off in the infinity pool, and enjoying cocktails with a view.
Final Thoughts
Ending my time in Sicily at Villa Fiorita was the perfect way to wrap up my trip. The hotel strikes an ideal balance between tranquility and convenience, offering a peaceful retreat while remaining just around the corner from the heart of Taormina. From its elegant design and luxury feel to its exceptional amenities and attentive service, every detail feels thoughtfully curated with the guest experience in mind. It’s the kind of place that leaves a lasting impression, and one I’m already dreaming of returning to!

Snapshots of Sicily: Ortigia, Cefalù, & Taormina
My first trip to Sicily was filled with beautiful sea views, incredible food, and up-close views of Europe’s largest active volcano, Mount Etna. My trip only lasted nine days, but my first taste of this Mediterranean island has left me hungry for another visit!
Lugano: The Best of Italy…in Switzerland
Located in the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland, and just a stone’s throw from the Italian border, the Italian influence in Lugano is strong! From the language spoken to the more laid-back rhythm of daily life, and some of the best Italian food I’ve had to date, Lugano is worth a visit!
A Long Weekend in Cannes: Relaxing on the Riviera
A great flight deal was all it took to turn last Labour Day weekend into a spontaneous trip to Cannes. While Cannes is best known for its film festival and luxury feel, I chose this location to enjoy a few days of sandy beaches and swimming in the sea. A long weekend was just the right amount of time to soak up the sun in Cannes while leaving room for some sightseeing in and around the city!
Lucerne & Mount Pilatus: Switzerland from Sea to Sky
Lucerne was the perfect city to introduce me to Switzerland. We spent only two days there: one becoming acquainted with the city, and the next ascending to the top of Mount Pilatus. I can’t recommend this excursion enough. The experience was unforgettable, and, despite my fear of heights, I would do it again. Being surrounded by the beauty of the Swiss Alps felt like standing inside of a postcard!
One Week Wandering Madeira
The Portuguese island of Madeira is, without a doubt, the most breathtaking place I’ve experienced with my own eyes. Its incredible views are endless, and the variety of things to do is impressive for such a small island. In the span of a single day, you can find yourself hiking above the clouds, taking a cable car down a steep mountainside, and enjoying the sunset while swimming in the sea.
Exploring Alsace: France’s Fairytale Wine Region
The picturesque region of Alsace is situated in France, right on the German border and not far from Switzerland either. I couldn’t get enough of its colorful half-timbered houses, cobblestone streets, and storybook feel. Visiting Alsace feels like stepping straight into a fairy tale!

A Taste of Provence: Exploring Avignon and Aix-en-Provence
Growing up hearing the famous song about “le pont d’Avignon”, it felt surreal to finally visit in person! The charming city of Avignon, located in the heart of Provence, was the perfect place to stop for a couple of nights before continuing our journey to the French Riviera.
Discovering Malta: Magic in the Mediterranean
Though Malta hadn’t been on my radar for long, as soon as I started researching this beautiful country I knew I had to plan a visit ASAP. This tiny, one-of-a-kind island nation is brimming with history and never-ending ocean views (just my style)! If it weren’t so far away, I’d have gone back already. Until then, I’ll be encouraging everyone I know to experience the magic of Malta for themselves.
The Azores: One week on Saõ Miguel Island
It started over a bottle of wine and conversation that went something like: “Have you ever heard of the Azores?” “The what?” That girls’ night conversation turned out to be surprisingly productive. The trip was incredible, and Saõ Miguel Island was unlike anything we’d ever experienced. Our most repeated phrase quickly became: “The pictures just don’t do it justice”.
Dublin & Beyond: 4 Days of Irish Charm
Dublin is a laid-back city full of heart. Whether you’re wandering its cobblestone streets or exploring the coast and countryside, Dublin makes an incredible base for a few unforgettable days in Ireland.
